The Ottoman Empire, which existed from around 1299 to 1922, had a rich history of tobacco use, particularly in the later centuries of its existence. Tobacco was introduced to the Ottoman Empire through trade with the Americas and quickly gained popularity. Smoking pipes, often elaborately crafted and decorated, became a symbol of social status and were used for both tobacco and other substances.

While there were certainly many long tobacco pipes used in the Ottoman Empire, it's challenging to determine the absolute "longest" one, as the length of a pipe would have varied based on individual preferences and regional styles. These pipes were commonly known as "nargile" or "hookah" in Turkish.
