The sad story of Diana's necklace, which the Princess wore only once. In collaboration with Garrard and Company, Diana designed a special piece of jewellery for her appearance at Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall. The necklace with diamonds and South Seas pearls was to be part of the Swan Lake Suite, a set of necklace and earrings. Diana managed to appear in public wearing the necklace, but the jewellers did not have time to make the second part of the set, the princess was soon involved in a car accident and died before the work was completed. In fact, Diana "borrowed" the necklace from the company. Six months after her death, Garrard and Company sold the set to a private buyer.
